Horological Novelties

I've had an interest in vintage (yes, often obsolete) display technology for some time, and have accumulated a small assortment of Nixies, Numitrons, Digivacs, etc. The only trouble is in how to display them: An un-energized Nixie tube is pretty boring. A circuit that just counts 0-9 endlessly seems a bit pointless.

A clock, on the other hand, is a useful instrument whose purpose doesn't require much explanation. As a foundation for displaying old readout tubes, it also allows me to display my collection pieces energized and displaying useful information.

So, here are photos and descriptions of some clocks I've built. Click the photos for descriptions and larger pictures.
